Letter to Hon. Joseph Biden, President of the United States - Sen. Cramer, Colleagues Demand Biden Change Course on Failing Energy Policy as Prices Skyrocket at Home and Putin is Emboldened

Letter

U.S. Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND), member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, and Dan Sullivan (R-AK) sent a letter to President Joe Biden pressing him to change course on his failing energy policy. In the letter, the senators outline 12 specific actions the president can announce to unleash domestic energy production in order to lower skyrocketing energy prices and to help America's European allies be less dependent on Vladimir Putin's regime for their energy supply, especially in light of the Ukraine crisis.

"Your Administration's energy policies--which focus on restricting, delaying, and killing the production of American energy--have had the predictable but catastrophic effect of driving up energy prices for American working families, increasing pink slips for American energy workers, and significantly empowering our adversaries, especially Putin, who has used energy as a weapon for decades," wrote the senators.

"The American people are looking to their President to rise to this critical moment. Our national security, global stability for ourselves and our allies, as well as the prosperity of every American family are on the line," continued the senator.

Senators Cramer and Sullivan are joined on the letter by Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY), James Lankford (R-OK), John Cornyn (R-TX), John Thune (R-SD), Joni Ernst (R-IA), John Hoeven (R-ND), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Roger Wicker (R-MS), Steve Daines (R-MT), Ron Johnson (R-WI), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Mike Braun (R-IN), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Jim Risch (R-ID), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Pat Toomey (R-PA), John Kennedy (R-LA), and Deb Fischer (R-NE).
